Thursday, August 31st, 2006

Thanksgiving is a time for family gatherings and social celebration. With so many festivities, it is no surprise that customers are running towards Thanksgiving decorations. For most customers, decorations usually consist of table pieces or turkey themed center pieces. With a wide variety of cornucopia and turkey decorations, customers can easily turn their house into a festivity. While most of these accessories are expensive, some center pieces range from $16.95 to $48.95. Nevertheless, these pieces are bright and beautiful. They accentuate any table, no matter how many items you have bought. With stunning decorations, homeowners can astonish guests with their overall presentation.

The Value of Links?

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

Okay - here is a question that has been dogging me for a while. Google uses PR - PageRank - to describe the value or “authority” of a web page. On the Google toolbar that you can install on Firefox and Internet Explorer - the PR of the page that you are on is displayed from 0 to 10. Wonderful. Now, when looking at the “value” of a web page, most people point to PR as the basis of their judgement. Without going deep into the original PR calculation, I wanted to get a sense of what people think is the value of PR. So, take a look here:

If a web page with PR = 0 is worth $1, what is a:

PR = 1 worth?

PR = 2 worth?

PR = 3 worth?

etc.

Drop me a comment with your value judgement!

Urine Gone

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

When we have pets in our homes, the last things we want to think about are accidents. Of course all pets tend to pee on the rug every so often; therefore it is important that we find a product that will take the smell away. Luckily, Urine Gone is that product. For only $17.95, it effectively removes all urine stain and takes away all odors. Customers can leave their homes knowing that even if urine ends up on their floors, they can easily remove all traces of it. With a twenty four oz bottle of the liquid, and a backlight stain detector, this will surely be the most popular item.

New Ways to Spam Search Engines

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

In the wake of the unfortunate (or fortunate - depending on whether you plan on using the data or not) release of detailed search queries made by 1000’s of AOL users by a research group in AOL, people are much more worried that their searches are being looked at. Well, this is a possibility - in this age of paper trails extending as long as an ISP or search engine has storage to keep said paper trails - it will be a possibility. To help create a fog around your queries - a team at NYU Media Research Lab has developed a tool to create random searches from your Firefox browser. Originally, there was a direct link to the tool, but it seems to be down now. Basically, it is a firefox plugin that sends out random searches to all the major search engines. Yipes - I bet the search engines are loving this (sarcasm). This will not only create a nice privacy fog around your queries - but also reduce the search engines ability to track searches - thus also reducing their ability to improve searches. Hmmmmm… I guess it sucks either way.

Forest Faces

Thursday, August 24th, 2006

Most homeowners love spicing up their homes with unique items. However, the newest trend is a lot funnier than most people would expect. Forest Faces are designed to be placed on trees and include funny yet realistic faces. These sets are glow in the dark and tend to either scare or surprise new visitors. What is even more surprising is that some sets are so life like that animals may think it is human. Therefore, do not be surprised if your dog tries to say hello to it! With affordable prices ranging from $12.95 to $20.00, it is a hilarious purchase.

Health Insurance Tips

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

There are several ways of lowering your health insurance rate when you purchase insurance from a health insurance company. To begin with, you should decide whether you want to use an Insurance Agent or purchase your insurance directly from the insurance company. A good insurance agent can decrease your health insurance rate significantly, while a bad and biased insurance agent can increase your health insurance rate and leave you with a policy that is not optimal for you and your needs.

Ionic Air Purifier

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

With pollution all around us, it is no wonder that ionic air purifiers are one of the most popular products. Although models like the Ionic Pro may seem costly at $144.95, it is worth cleaning the air that you breathe. Most consumers love the idea of living in a healthier atmosphere and thus do not mind spending money on such an investment. Once the air purifying system begins, negative ions fall to the floor and in return, immediately purify the air. It is a wonderful investment, especially since the as seen on TV version is much more expensive. It is a great bargain for anyone who wants to live in a healthy area.

Bullet Proof by Design

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

Laminated glass is essentially two pieces of glass sandwiching an inner layer of a polycarbonate material. Laminated glass holds together rather than shattering into shards. Bulletproof glass uses thicker glass than ordinary windshields and a more specialized, high tech inner polycarbonate sheet. When a bullet is fired at the glass, it pierces the first layer of glass but is stopped by the polycarbonate layer. The thicker the bullet proof glass, the better the protection it offers from more powerful bullets.
